It was a really nice day last Thursday (weather wise, anyway), so A and I decided to skip our usual Smithsonian outing to go venture outside the DC area. We got a Zipcar (this one below) and headed towards farmland.
After about a 45 minute drive (boy it felt good to drive!), we ended up at Cox Farms' Fall Festival 2009. Let me just tell you that the two of us acted like we were six year olds the entire time we were there. We just wanted to blend in with the hundreds of preschoolers who were there on field trips.
The farm was awesome, especially with five difference slides that even us adult sized people could slide down. This one was my favorite.
There was also free apples and apple cider to enjoy during our time at the farm.
And I went on my very first hayride!! It was so much fun, we went on a second hayride at the end of the day.
Fork in the road, get it? hahaha
See, here's proof we were on a hayride.
I love the little piglets! They were really munching down on momma. And then after lunch, all the little piggies fell into a food coma.
There was also a mediocre corn maze at the farm...as you can see, the corn was getting a little dry.
The corn maze had a lot of fun halloweeny stuff though.
And this is my favorite picture of the day -- a cute little kid trying to climb over a pumpkin that's about twice his size.
